What's this all about?
Hi
I am here in Vancouver/Burnaby to study Physics at Simon Fraser
University. I am working in Mike Thewalt's Semiconductor Spectroscopy Lab. I created this website to let my friends and family at home know what's going on in my life. And I use it to keep track of some great moments...
GPS Altitude Chart
I developed a little program to visualize the elevation data in GPS tracklogs. GPS Altitude Chart reads "GPS Exchange" (GPX) files and displays elevation plots in form of Altitude/Time and Altitude/Distance charts.
Hiking in Canada and elsewhere...
If you are into hiking, some pages might be especially
interesting for you:
These pages have a lot of photos and a diary, describing where we went and what we did.
I've also been on Iceland and in Nepal for hiking trips:
Some other interesting pages
Some interesting pages are my
first days in Vancouver, and my last
day before the semester began.
Here is my trip to Victoria, BC and some
photos of a polar light/aurora borealis here in Vancouver.
Shortly after Christmas my dad visited me - here
are some photos he took in Vancouver. Of course we've also
been in Whistler for skiing.
In March I went down to Los
Angeles to the APS March Meeting 2005.
Here are pictures of my four best
days skiing, I am glad that I had time to go skiing for 20
days besides studying!
Here's some fun stuff of the physics
lab! And here are some photos of another trip
to the States - Seattle.
Also, don't miss Mount Rainier and San
Francisco!
In the Summer of 2005 my friends Björn, Martin and Wolfi came to
visit me. They were here for six weeks and we went for hiking in
the Stein Valley, along the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island
and we went on a road trip to San Francisco!
